Library Tales Publishing is thrilled to announce the release of a poignant children's book, "Blue and Pink Balloons" by Shani Rogers. The narrative delicately encapsulates the anticipation, joy, and loss associated with the promise of a new sibling, viewed through the innocent lens of a young girl.

Rogers, a devoted wife, mother, and native of Long Beach, California, uses her personal experiences and unfiltered emotions to craft this touching tale. "Blue and Pink Balloons" is a reflection of her family's own experience of loss due to a miscarriage, presenting the story as perceived by their daughter who was close to her fourth birthday at the time.

"Blue and Pink Balloons" goes beyond merely being a children's book; it serves as a vital tool for families facing the loss of a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. It offers a relatable narrative for children who grapple with the anticipation of becoming a sibling, followed by the confusion and grief stemming from the loss. The book serves as a compassionate reminder that children's feelings in these circumstances are valid, relatable, and understandable.

Significantly, the narrative highlights that the grieving process extends beyond the parents—it resonates deeply with the children who were preparing to welcome a new sibling into their lives. With an estimated 15-20% of all pregnancies ending in miscarriage, equivalent to roughly one million losses per year in the United States, "Blue and Pink Balloons" is a much-needed resource in children's literature.

"Blue and Pink Balloons" was crafted with a target audience of children aged 3-10 years old, although its message resonates with readers of all ages. The book aims to encourage open discussion about a topic that's too often shrouded in silence. Rogers believes that sharing this story can help families facilitate discussions about their feelings, or even answer questions children may have about infant loss—a subject that should not be a source of shame but rather a topic warranting more open conversation.

The book will be released on October 15th, commemorating World Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. "Blue and Pink Balloons" is currently available for pre-orders on the Library Tales Publishing website for $13.99.

The Rogers family experienced their loss in February of 2015. Even now, their ten-year-old daughter references the sibling they lost. Despite the grief, the family was blessed with a son, now six years old, and they don't take a single moment for granted. The release of this book is not only a courageous act of sharing a personal story but also a testament to the resilience, unity, and strength of the Rogers family during difficult times. Shani Rogers sincerely hopes that her book can provide solace and support to other families facing similar struggles.
